About the Department

The department will train students so that they have consistent good academic track record also gives priority to practical perspective.

The Wi-Fi enabled campus helps the student to pursue academic activities in a vast and peaceful environment.

Periodical Technical guest lectures will be arranged to make the students to be in par with current IT trends. The department organizes Faculty development programs to TRAIN the TRAINERS on regular basis.

Student development programs will also be organized to train students on current industry requirements like AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, IOT, Python Programming, Cloud Computing, Android Development, Web Technologies etc.

Annual newsletter will be designed & published to reflect activities & achievements of the department.

At AI&ML RNSIT, we prepare our students for the future where AI & ML hold the key to success. Internal Hackathon

The internal hackathon organized for selecting teams to represent RNSIT at SIH 24. 40 teams responding to unique problem statements presented their ideas. The event was a grand success.

Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Generative AI with LLMs: Practical Insights & Future Directions"

The FDP on "Generative AI with LLMs: Practical Insights & Future Directions" was organized by RNS Institute of Technology and BMS College of Engineering. The program combined theoretical discussions and hands-on sessions, attracting 61 participants, including 20 industry professionals and faculty from various engineering colleges across Karnataka, focusing on LLM architecture and practical applications.

On October 22, 2024, RAS IEEE hosted a LaTeX workshop with Dr. Narendra Kumar and Prof. Poornima H S, enhancing third-semester students' documentation skills through hands-on learning with Overleaf.

A Story of Resilience and Purpose

Ramitha Kulal Ganesh, shared her inspiring story about how she tackles each and every day-to-day problem while having cerebral palsy. She motivated the students to embrace a positive outlook towards life.

Plantation Drive

The plantation drive successfully planted six saplings, raised awareness about environmental sustainability, and encouraged students to engage in social responsibility initiatives. This event effectively promoted sustainability and social responsibility among participants. The department is committed to continuing such initiatives in the future.

Full Stack Development using MERN

The technical talk was led by Mr. Meda Vinod Kumar, an Adjunct Faculty member at the institute, brought valuable insights and expertise in the field. The event commenced with an introduction to Full Stack Development, emphasizing the importance of proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies. Mr. Meda Vinod Kumar elaborated on each component of the MERN stack, highlighting MongoDB for the database, Express.js for backend API development, React for frontend UI, and Node.js for server-side scripting.

SDLC Practices for Developers

The technical talk was led by Mr. Purshotham B.V, Deputy manager, Comviva, brought valuable insights and expertise in the field. The event commenced with an introduction to SDLC Development, emphasizing the importance of Software engineering & Agile practices. The event effectively promoted how SDLC is essential in industry practices for delivering high-quality, secure, and efficient software solutions that meet business needs while controlling costs and managing risks.
