Dr. Vipula Singh

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in 2001 and is currently running B.E, M.Tech and Research programs. The department is headed by Dr. Vipula Singh, who has around 18 years of experience in teaching and research. She has obtained her doctorate from Guru Gobind Singh Indra Prastha University New Delhi in the area of image processing. She has published more than 21 papers in international / national Journals and Conferences. She is currently guiding 2 students for Ph.D and 1 student for MS. She is the author a book on image processing.

Department has Well qualified, committed and experienced Faculty members with an average experience of 15 years. Department has total of 36 faculty members with minimum qualification as MTech and 6 with PhD degree and 20 faculty are pursuing their PhD. Excellent infrastructure with well-equipped and sufficient laboratories and library facility and Seminar halls are available for the usage of Lecture/NPTEL Videos/Demos.

NBA Accredited during 2011-14Department is Recognized as Research center by VTU, Belagavi, 14 scholars from Industry and academia are currently pursuing PhD/MSc(Engg).The Department of ECE has been consistently securing university ranks from past five years and this has led to a goodwill about the college at the state level. In the last five years, a total of ten students have secured ranks, out of which three have been First Ranks. The average performance of the student is around 85% in vtu exams. 90% of the students get placed in reputed companies with minimum package of 3.5 L pa and maximum package of 24 L pa. Good Academic and Extra, Co-Curricular records by students, Consistent performance in university exams and placement of the students in Core Companies

Good number of Paper Publications by both Faculty and Students Good number of technical interactions like Guest Lectures, Workshops, Competitions &Conferences are conducted by the Department Students Club Techkruthi, Robotics Club, mini project exhibition(PROP), Professional societies IEEE, and IETE for the benefit of faculty and students to alert their skills.Training Classes are carried out to prepare the students for Placements/ GATE/ GRE Examination.

In 2012-13, UG intake has increased from 120 to 180 and PG intake has increased from 18 to 24. The department has 30 faculty members, with 4 professors and the rest with a PG degree. Two professors are doctorates with specialization in Wireless communication and image processing. The Department has VTU recognized R &D centre and 13 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D in diverse areas of ECE, such as, Digital Electronics, VLSI, Biomedical Engineering, Power Electronics, Image Processing and Communication. The faculty are zealously involved in improving their skills and qualifications. Some of the highlights of the achievements of the faculty are

  4. Regularly conduct curriculum related workshops for VTU faculty.
